This diploma thesis discusses the issue of Voice Activity Detection. There are two types of detectors described: energetic and statistics. Their funktionality is proved in the Matlab environment. Further, the implemetation of VADs is made through C language with standard libraries and GSL open-source libraries. The realized algorithms are compared in the scope of processing time of computation, memory management and a single mathematical operations stress. Also a comparism of the processing time according to segment length was made.

Inpainting of Missing Audio Signal Samples

Recently, sparse representations of signals became very popular in the field of signal processing. Sparse representation mean that the signal is represented exactly or very well approximated by a linear combination of only a few vectors from the specific representation system. This thesis deals with the utilization of sparse representations of signals for the process of audio restoration, either historical or recent records. Primarily old audio recordings suffer from defects like crackles or noise. Until now, short gaps in audio signals were repaired by interpolation techniques, especially autoregressive modeling. Few years ago, an algorithm termed the Audio Inpainting was introduced. This algorithm solves the missing audio signal samples inpainting using sparse representations through the greedy algorithm for sparse approximation. This thesis aims to compare the state-of-the-art interpolation methods with the Audio Inpainting. Besides this, l1-relaxation methods are utilized for sparse approximation, while both analysis and synthesis models are incorporated. Algorithms used for the sparse approximation are called the proximal algorithms. These algorithms treat the coefficients either separately or with relations to their neighbourhood (structured sparsity). Further, structured sparsity is used for audio denoising. In the experimental part of the thesis, parameters of each algorithm are evaluated in terms of optimal restoration efficiency vs. processing time efficiency. All of the algorithms described in the thesis are compared using objective evaluation methods Signal-to-Noise ratio (SNR) and PEMO-Q. Finally, the overall conclusion and discussion on the restoration results is presented.

Nowadays, the Intruder Alarm system is commonly used to protect the life, health and the possession of people in big companies. However, these systems have limited options for managing and remote control. This lack is very often criticized by big companies which want to use the Intruder Alarm System with other applications like Access and Attendance control. The aim of this article is to design a Control and Indicating Equipment which can be implemented into commercially made Personal Computer as expansion card. The designed card provides the main function of the Intruder Alarm system which can be further extended by other applications. The system consists of external communication like Universal Serial Bus, Ethernet and General Packet Radio Service interface. Each individual part of the system is driven by a single microcontroller ATmega328P which can handle communication and evaluation of the current state obtained by devices connected to it. The design can offer all alarm and non-alarm visualization of smart control like irrigation, lights control, audio system, etc. The whole design is driven by the proper standardization and the design consists of every schematic which comes with the explanation. © 2020, Institute of Advanced Engineering and Science. The Brushless DC (BLDC) motors are often used in many situations in many sectors. These motors are widely used in the application of the Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (AUV). However, BLDC motors need to be controlled by the external system to ensure flawless and reliable function. Using the Electronic speed control (ESC) for the brushless motor, every motor can be controlled by any platforms such as Arduino. The Arduino platform was selected due to its simplicity, availability at the market and the cost-effectiveness. The aim of this research is designing the motor control for the BLDC motor on the Arduino platform. The designed system should be used by the UAV using propellers. This paper also includes the software implementation for the motor control. An implementation is developed to study the performance of the system for wide range speed control and power quality improvement. © 2018, Wydawnictwo SIGMA-NOT. In order to deepen students' practical knowledge and understanding of the “Computer Networks” subject, a Monitoring Network System was developed that is able to read, collect and distribute data describing real technological processes. The Monitoring System design is based on Client/Server architecture. The model is represented by the real chemical reactor, which was created for the study of the enzymatic hydrolysis of potentially hazardous chrome-tanned wastes generated during leather manufacturing. Final system should be implemented at the university to the graduates and the system should be modular with possible communication support.
